Use network infrastructure instead of accounting software when the missing capability is a governed communication path. Infrastructure attaches endpoints, switches local traffic, routes packets, resolves names, applies network controls, observes paths, and provides resilience. Accounting software performs financial interpretation after economic events reach the application.
The systems are complementary when finance applications are hosted or distributed, yet their decision boundary remains structural. Link, VLAN, address, route, resolver, firewall, latency, or reachability problems call for network work. Mapping, posting, balancing, reconciliation, close, or reporting problems call for accounting controls. This distinction also determines how economic event and financial statement should be evidenced and reconciled.
